Does Meditation Extend Life?

Meditation increases life expectancy. Life is beautiful, joyful. Our saints have acquired great mental strength and vibrant life through morakaba or meditation. The brightness of their faces, the beauty of their skin, and their mental prudence impressed the common people. It is still difficult to understand the age of the saints. Even at the age of eighty they feel the vitality of forty years.

How does meditation enliven a person?

Earlier miracles were attributed to this vibrant life of saints. But now scientific studies have shown that even in old age anyone can awaken the latent energy inside the body by doing meditation, can become lively. An excellent survey of scientists in this regard was published in the April 28, 1990 issue of the weekly New Scientist. According to this report of this objective scientific journal, two groups of scientists in the United States claim that Transcendental Meditation (Transcendental Meditation or T.M. for short) can increase your life expectancy and improve the quality of life. Scientists say they have found that if elderly people practice Transcendental Meditation twice a day as a relaxation technique, life expectancy will increase along with vitality.

Various studies on meditation!

Charles Alexander and Howard Schandler of Sage University in Fairfield, Iowa, along with researchers from Harvard University and the University of Maryland conducted a study of 73 retirement home residents, according to various reports. The average age of the home’s residents was 81 years. They reviewed the comparative effects of three relaxation or meditation techniques on age. Alexander and his fellow researchers randomly assigned each person to one of three methods of meditation or relaxation. The fourth group was not taught any relaxation techniques. The members of the other three groups continued to meditate in their own ways. The researchers surveyed the condition of these four groups of people after three months. They found that of the 4 groups, those doing Transcendental Meditation improved the most. On average, their systolic blood pressure dropped from 140 to 128. It is a proven fact that lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of heart attack. And heart attack is a major cause of death. Psychological tests also showed that the members of the Transcendental Meditation group were able to think better than the other group, and their memory power was also relatively improved.

A Survey of Meditation on Human Lifespan

After three years of surveying, it was found that everyone in the Transcendental Meditation group was alive. On the other hand, several members from each of the other three groups died. Among the 478 retirement home residents who were not included in the study, the mortality rate during this time was 62.5 percent. Researcher Alexander said, this was the first study to assess the effect of Transcendental Meditation on life expectancy. This result is very consistent with other surveys and studies conducted on this meditation method in the past. Other studies have shown that many psychophysiological processes, such as blood pressure, vision, cognitive functioning, DHEAS hormone levels, etc., decline with age. But in Transcendental Meditation these processes are significantly enhanced. It is worth noting that DIAS hormone is produced in the adrenal gland.

What does the report say about meditation?

The report also states that, in general, each meditation and relaxation method is equally effective. But this study is a direct challenge to this idea. Another study conducted by Kenneth Epley of Stanford University in California reinforced this challenge. Kenneth analyzed the results of hundreds of previous studies and surveys on the effectiveness of various meditation techniques in reducing anxiety. He found that Transcendental Meditation was twice as effective at reducing anxiety than any other method.

What do scientists say about meditation?

‘New Scientist’ published from England is the most respected journal in the scientific community for publishing objective research results. This report published in it proves the superiority of the Eastern method of meditation. It is noteworthy that Maharishi Mahayogi, a prominent saint of the subcontinent, introduced the first Transcendental Meditation or TM in America in 1960.

Since its launch, Hollywood stars and Pentagon generals have flocked to this TM. Since then, Transcendental Meditation has become the number one popular meditation method in the United States. After that, many meditation methods were introduced in the United States, such as Psychocabernetic in 1964, Silva Method in 1966, etc. But since Transcendental Meditation’s superiority over all other methods has been established in hundreds of scientific experiments and studies in terms of effectiveness, this method is still at the top.

In the 1990s, quantum concepts began to influence Maharishi’s concept of transcendental meditation. Maharishi’s distinguished disciple Dr. Deepak Chopra, MD, is now promoting the concept of quantum healing in America. He has so far written four research books on quantum healing and on good health and longevity, creating a new buzz in the American medical world. He called his book ‘Ageless Body, Timeless Mind’, published in 1993, a ‘quantum alternative to aging’. The book has already sold over a million copies and is on the bestseller list. So it turns out, your age is no barrier to the effectiveness of meditation. 60s, 70s, 80s – whatever your age, you can start meditating and find new vitality.

You can live 120 years!

How long will you live? As soon as this thought comes to mind, we set a limit on our age. And that limit becomes a reality for us. Science currently believes that each of us has the biological potential to live between 115 and 120 years unless afflicted with a chronic disease. And if that is the case then middle age should start at the age of 60 to 65 years. But we think our life span is very short. At the age of 60, I lose interest in life. And those who retire from working life, they become old overnight. Menopause occurs in women in their 40s. Men in their 40s fear heart attacks. Most people think it is better to focus on worship after reaching 50. Our environment, cultural ideologies control our life expectancy. And the basic premise of psychophysical processes is that ‘expectations control outcomes.’ Now if you adjust your expectations in the light of scientific knowledge, you can make your body largely timeless.

Different ideas!

To make the body timeless, some common misconceptions about lifespan and age must first be dispelled. Because these ideas are not really true. The main misconception in this regard is that people die in the process of aging. The truth is that fevers associated with old age are the cause of death. That is, no one dies because of old age, and old age does not cause pain. Pain comes from fever. Another misconception is that lifespan is controlled by genetics. In fact, if your parents live to be 80 years old, this gene trait can only add an average of 3 years to your lifespan. On the other hand, your mindset, behavior, eating and working habits can extend your life by 50 to 60 years. In this case you can successfully overcome gene-traits.

What is the relationship of meditation with age?

Another misconception about age is that the aging process is irreversible. If you look at nature, you will see that this idea is not true. There are mechanisms in nature that protect some animals from aging. such as bacteria and protozoa. If you look at the animal world, bees can turn back the ages. And now medical science has proven that humans can reverse the physiological process of aging. Scientific studies have shown that markers of the aging process, such as bone density, body temperature, metabolic rate, blood pressure, muscle strength, body fat content, and more, can be altered. These can be changed through exercise, diet, fresh weather and natural surroundings, and meditation.

Details about meditation!

Of course, meditation is not just about relaxation. Relaxation plays an important role in reducing anxiety in our current stress-ridden society. Yet relaxation in a larger sense is the first step to a higher level of consciousness. This higher level of consciousness is associated with intuition, creativity, intuition and wisdom.

Exercise, diet and lifestyle changes are essential for a long, healthy, happy life. But this is only part of the story. To understand the other part, one must know how modern physicists see the world. Quantum mechanics tells us that visible solids are made up of invisible subatomic particles. And in the most primitive state, these particles are energy or a combination of information.

That is, our visible world is made up of the invisible world of energy and information. This rule applies to the mind as well. If you want to get itchy feet, you need to use information and energy from your mind. Although we cannot see or perceive our thoughts, wishes, desires, instincts, likes and dislikes, their reality cannot be denied under any circumstances.

The visible world around us is made up of them. If you can communicate with this invisible world you can change your visible tangible world. Just as thought can prevent war, create missiles, create destruction, so can thought create love, compassion, peace, harmony and youthful life.

Dr. to build a timeless body. Deepak Chopra mentions several processes in his book ‘Ageless Body, Timeless Mind’. Some of these are:

1. Establishing one’s control over life.

It does not mean to have power over others. Rather, gain autonomy over one’s own life. One way to do this is to refrain from seeking the support or approval of others. Because in trying to please others and gain approval, we drain vital energy in our lives.

2. Put full trust in your inner being.

Not relying on outside sources for decision making. Nature has created everyone with Manisha. But if you are always looking outside for knowledge and information, this inner mind dies. Your body-mind is always telling you what it wants, if you listen carefully you will always make the right decision.

3. Don’t be a perfectionist in everything.

The more you are able to discard the petty nature, the more you will be relieved. To live long you must learn to coexist peacefully.

4. Set inclusive goals.

Most people become captives of money, wealth, fame, power, hatred or hatred. Instead try to make life calm and glorious. do the work smile love Rhythm yourself to the background rhythm of nature. You will see that even as you age, youth will surround you.
